Message-ID: <20071106214507.20025.27109@hm-pop1.solinus.com> We have a Baum 2020 folder. The last number of jobs we have tried folding that are gloss text and have been aqueous coated have been a night mare. It seems to get worse each time and I'm looking for suggestions to give the folder operator. He is running out of things to try. It seems the first sheet or two will fold ok then it starts folding short by different amounts. We've tried switching plates around. The last couple of times we were able to send it to a different fold section, but that doesn't work now. The sheet sizes have been 11x17 and 11x25. He did go to the hardware store and buy some spray static remover. If we sprays it will running it feeds ok, but we can't buy enough to fold 19,000 sheets. When he stops spraying the folds are inconsistent again. We tried buying some garland (spelling?), but doesn't think that helps. We we run unprinted sheets, he doesn't have any problems. Any suggestions? Baum hasn't been much help either. The one guy never heard of aqueous coating and the other guy hasn't been much help either. Jeff Haines Printing Co. 10575 W. Main Rd. Also if folding to an up plate (1 or 3) try to give the sheet a slight up curl. Using tesa tape might help too. What works best for us is to get lots of humidity back into the paper. I bought a humidifier and placed it along side the paper then covered it all with a plastic tarp. Once it took two days before the paper absorbed enough humidity to eliminate the static problem, but usually over night is enough time. -- Jace Prejean Bayou Printing & Graphics, Inc 922 Sunset Ave Houma, LA 70360 Phone 985-868-8273 www.BayouPrinting.com On Nov 6, 2007 3:45 PM, Jeff Haines wrote: > *** This is a PrintShare List Message *** > > We have a Baum 2020 folder.
