[PrintOwners] back from Chicago

I'm recently back from the Chicago NAQP Printowners conference and Graph
Expo, tried something a little bit different this year, and wanted to share
the idea.
For anyone who has been to a conference of this nature, you all know that
the amount of knowledge, ideas, concepts and philosophies presented is
amazing and can be overwhelming. The topics tend to skip from one end of the
spectrum to another...one minute, you're getting great HR ideas, the next,
it's marketing, then finance, etc. There is a binder provided by NAQP with
slides of the presentations and lines for taking notes, but if your
handwriting is anything like mine, you end up needing a cipher to figure it
all out at the end!
I've come back from too many conferences, reviewed my notes weeks later
(after catching up on the stuff I missed while away), and by that time, I
can't remember what my notes referred to!
This time, the morning that I actually left Chicago, I spent about 2 hours
in my hotel room going through all of my notes, handouts, business cards,
etc. and distilling all of that information into an action plan. Now, when
the dust finally settles on my desk from my catching up, I have an
organized, somewhat coherent idea of the most important items I wanted to
take away from the conference, and I'm off to the races!
Just my thoughts and YMMV!
