A few years ago we received a 96 page employee manual done in Excel.
Every page was on a separate worksheet, every line was in a separate
cell. I couldn't believe someone was dense enough to think that Excel
was the right tool to write a manual. The customer wanted me to make
some extensive changes to the manual and give it back to them in
Excel. I politely declined but did offer to recreate the manual in
Word for them. They agreed readily and didn't even ask about the price
- I guess they must have tried to make some changes to the manual and
quickly realized what a ginormous pain in the ass it was going to be.
