What kind of file is the graphic element?  If its an .eps, save is an an .ai
file and replace the link in Indesign.  If its an .ai file, try making it a
.PDF.  Worst case scenario, open in photoshop and rasterize it.  Save that
as a tiff and replace it.  The last one will definitely work, but won't
necessarily hold size and shape as well, so you may have to spend some time
placing the new file.  Make sure the client proofs the sh*t out of it.
