[PrintOwners] Ink for Rena

This problem is not when the printer isn't used for days, it is when it
isn't used for literally seconds. The printer does have a printhead purge
(it runs whatever is in the feed tray and lays down a solid stip of ink as
wide as each printhead, but if I don't start printing again for 5 seconds,
there is an area at the lead edge of the printed address where there is no
ink. Ted, our printer doesn't have a heater and we do store the cartridges
upside down in the carrier they came in. We wipe them off before we put them
away for storage and again before we put them back into the printer.

Mark,
I know this is very basic but in case you haven't tried...
This happens to us sometimes at the beginning of the job especially if we
have not used the inkjet for a few days.
My guy will take the cartridge out and lightly tap it on a piece of wet
cloth several times to jar and loosen the ink.
Then after about ten impressions or so the problem goes away.
It works for us.

I have a Rena Imager I printer and am using fast dry ink. I am running into
a problem where, if there is a delay of more than about 5 seconds from 1
envelope to the next, about 1/8" of the lead edge of the address is missing
or looks slightly smeared. This is only when there is a slight delay. Is
that a result of the fast dry ink? If so, will the regular ink help that? I
know I need the fast dry for coated stock but is it necessary for envelopes,
newsletters, etc?
