I read the other day, the average Catholic has a much better chance of 
winning the lottery than they do of meeting the Pope.  At least you got 
close.
I actually had dinner at the White House once when my dad was president of 
the Washington state association of county officials. (WACO, isn't that a 
great name?) Us and 49 other presidents and their families.  Several hundred 
people.  LBJ was the guy then and I did get to shake his hand and Lady Bird 
and one of the daughters.  Miss Maryland was there too! What I really 
remember though was a big fat guy smoking a cigar who stuck it in my little 
brother's arm and gave him a bit of a burn.  The jerk.
I was 11 at the time.

Our congressman met us at the Capitol building and gave us the insiders tour 
as well.  Quite a trip for a little farm boy.
