Bill,
while I understand what you are saying, I believe negative  
information I found about a prospective employee on one of those  
sites would most likely prevent me from even interviewing them. And,  
if the information was found after an interview, I can't be sued  
because the other candidate was "better" -- better at what? Just all  
around better in my eyes.
