"Just wanted to let the list know that the NAQP and NAPL sent responded to
Adobe on June 15th. The Presidents of the respective associations (Steve
Johnson and Joe Truncale) wrote a letter to Bruce Chizen (the CEO of Adobe)
along with endorsements of the letter from the franchise Presidents of
AlphaGraphics, Sir Speedy, Allegra, PIP, ICED, and others. They were firm in
the fact that this decision was hurting our members and wanted Adobe to
realize that." Craig

Craig -

Thanks for the terrific info.

Assuming that he has even a modicum of good sense, if I were in Bruce
Chizen's position, I'd certainly be attentive to a letter like the one
you're describing (can we see a copy?).

Kinko's might be Adobe's single biggest customer, but it's dwarfed by the
combined number of NAQP and NAPL independents and the franchisee you've
listed.

If, in addition to that letter, he hears from a few hundred of us,
individually, that's certainly got a chance to make an impact. Any good
business person would have to take notice of something like that.

I haven't been able to develop an email address for Bruce, and since emails
from us might get spamized, anyway, I'm drafting a letter that I'll be
sending to him before I leave for vacation on Monday of next week (long
overdue, and third, but first in over 15 years, multiple-day/night float
trip in the Grand Canyon, followed by leisurely sightseeing across northern
Arizona and a few days of R & R in and around Santa Fe: eat your hearts
out).

In my absence, and because John Hughes enjoys them so much, I've written a
series of endless epistles mainly about our problems with Canon and will
have one of my assistants bombard the list with them on a daily basis.
Enjoy.

Hey Michael,
Just wanted to let the list know that the NAQP and NAPL sent responded to
Adobe on June 15th.
They were firm in
the fact that this decision was hurting our members and wanted Adobe to
realize that. This is just one more reason why everyone on these lists needs
to belong to the NAQP/NAPL. Fighting Adobe by yourself is like throwing a
ping pong ball at a battleship. At least with the power of thousands of
printing companies behind you it's more like launching a cannon ball. Still
might not make an impact with Adobe, but it should make them think.
