Bob is making a good point here.

I subscribe to both lists and have both downloaded through my gmail account.
It handles them in an organized, hierarchical way, and when I'm done with
the message, I click "archive" and I can then use google's fantanstic search
engine to find the particular message I want, usually within a word or two.

With 2875 megabytes of free available storage, I'm betting it will be a long
time before I run out of room.

This might be a good tactic for some who really need/want archives.
