We have had a Konica 6500 since November. We have both varnished the
final product and have done intricate die-cutting.

Ron,

We haven't tried to varnish anything off of a color laser printer . . .
I've seen some talk about it on this forum but we've never had a need.
If it needs varnish then we usually offset print.

We haven't tried to die-cut anything off our Ikon 650 (same as 6500) but
we have had several jobs that fold, booklet bind off-line, and cut . . .
long story short, compared to the Doc 12 that we replaced, registration,
cracking, and overall workability is much better than what we had with
the Doc 12.

We're still dealing with laser printing, but for the money, the output
that we're working with has been very good.

1. Has anyone tried to varnish on output from a KM6500 or similar
machine?

2. What about finishing operations on output from these machines?
Namely folding booklet making die cutting cutting

3. The samples we received appear to be very slippery, which seems like
it might cause problems in the bindery. Any input would be greatly
appreciated.
